Sporty, light and short (SLK) - First presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1996, the SLK 200 Roadster R170 was a real success story all the way through to 2004 with the facelifted model, eventually being replaced by the SLK of the R171 model series. With this model, the engineers developed a car that differed from other roadsters in its class in many respects and impressed its owners with its safety, comfort, environmental compatibility and suitability for everyday use. The most noticeable feature of the Roadster was undoubtedly the Vario roof, a steel roof that could be lowered completely into the trunk - in just 25 seconds and without compromising the rigidity and strength of the car. And nothing was left to chance when it came to the equipment of the SLK Roadster: From the power steering and light-alloy wheels to the sports seats and the nostalgic circular instruments in the cockpit, which were reminiscent of the equipment in old racing cars. Another special feature: The interior of the SLK Roadster featured a two-tone design for the first time. This attention to detail also awaits you in the miniature model of the Roadster, which is hand-assembled from over 109 separate parts and painted in an authentic colour. The precision model also impresses with its faithful representation of all exquisite interior appointments. The doors, hood and tailgate can be opened. To be able to remove the Roadster from the Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging, you will also find a screwdriver and a glove in the delivery package for loosening the screws in the polystyrene packaging and allowing you to touch the model without getting fingerprints on it.
