Mercedes‑Benz has a long tradition in Grand Prix motor racing. In the 1930s Mercedes‑Benz and Auto Union dominated the international motor racing scene. From 1954 to 1955 Mercedes‑Benz returned to Formula 1 and won two world championships with the Argentine driver Juan Manuel Fangio. In 12 Grand Prix races in 1954 and 1955 the team achieved a total of 9 wins. Since 2010 Mercedes‑Benz has participated in Formula 1 as a factory team.
The W03 is the fourth F1 race car and was unveiled at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona on 21.02.2012. Michael Schumacher has driven for Mercedes AMG Petronas since 2010. Since 1991 he has taken part in over 300 Formula 1 Grand Prix races and has been world champion seven times. Schumacher is the most successful driver in Formula 1 history and holds a whole host of records in this race series.
