Mercedes-AMG has been providing Formula 1 with the Safety Car since 1996 and it has been driven by Bernd Mayländer since 2000. While the Safety Car up to 2018 had been an AMG GT S that had been specially modified for the job, today's model that races around tracks worldwide is an AMG GT R, which featured red rather than silver paintwork at the 2020 Mugello Grand Prix for the very first time, in honour of Ferrari. The reason being the racing team's one thousandth start – a genuine milestone. Replicating the original in great detail, this miniature model of the red safety Car adds to any collection. Consequently, the model car is finished in the authentic paintwork colour and also has interior details which are true to the original and an interior with high-quality decoration. The limited-edition model is supplied in Mercedes-Benz packaging in AMG layout.
